Maxim magazine came up with a poll on the Top 10 Sexiest Vegetarians, and guess who topped it? Well, it's the elegant star V For Vendetta star, Natalie Portman. This Hollywood beauty deserves the first spot as she not only avoids animal products in meals, but also as accessories (read fur, feathers or leather).

2. Alyssa Milano

Number two on Maxim's list is Charmed actress Alyssa Milano. On her decision to turn vegetarian, according to her biography in IMDB, Alyssa says, 'I turned vegetarian after 9/11. A friend of mine came back from New York and said that he couldn't stand the smell of burnt flesh. It immediately reminded me of a barbecue.'


3. Shannon Elizabeth

Yup, she's the one from the 1999 comedy American Pie. The actress-poker player-former model's love for animals prompted her to form Animal Avengers, a non-profit animal rescue organisation, with her ex-husband actor, Joseph D Reitman.


4. Petra Nemcova

This model from the Czech Republic recently turned vegan after learning about the planet's rapidly depleting fish stocks. The founder and president of Happy Hearts Fund gave up meat and dairy in February last year.


5. Avril Lavigne

This Canadian Grammy award-nominated popsinger, musician and actress admits to 'snagging a bite of Matt's cheeseburgers every now and again.' She also told a magazine that said she prefers not to eat meat, but will not say she's a vegetarian 'in case anyone caught her eating meat'.
